Mimicry
2025-ongoing
The project explores the intangible heritage of rural communities, experiences of social mobility, and mimicry understood as a process of adapting to dominant cultural patterns. It reflects on the tension between origin and aspiration, and on the traces this process leaves in the body and memory. As part of the scholarship, a series of sculptural and textile works made from fabric, silicone, and handcrafted elements was created. Motifs of hands, masks, and body fragments refer to labor, inheritance, and the ongoing negotiation of identity between rural and urban worlds.
This project was funded by the Creative Scholarship of the City of Kraków.
